Join us for the return of Friday Nights at the de Young! This special Fall season runs for nine Fridays from September 28-November 23. All Friday nights will feature reduced admission to the special exhibition Contemporary Muslim Fashions, and free admission to the main-level galleries. At 7 pm in the Piazzoni Murals Room, we are excited to welcome Leah Vernon, the Detroit-based social media influencer, inclusive content creator, and plus-size hijabi model featured in places like Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, Seventeen, and Teen Vogue. Vernon will speak about her body-positive platform, Beauty and the Muse, how she uses modest style on Instagram to create social change, and what it means to be a fat, Black, and Muslim girl living in America. Q+A to follow. This appearance is free and open to the public, but space is limited.
